Consanguinity in the Vampire Diaires

The goal for this project was to explore the process of mapping a network based on information I collected related to my experience of being part of a community or neighbourhood. In this case, I created a radial relationship map based on the knowledge I gained about the close relationships and connections between different characters in The Vampire Diaries.
Tales of supernatural beings consuming the blood or flesh of the living have been found in nearly every culture around the world for many centuries. In the CW Network’s hit T.V. show The Vampire Diaries, based on the novels of the same name by L.J. Smith, all of the characters are interrelated and have very complicated, always-changing connections to each other.
This radial-relationship map examines the most important characters in The Vampire Diaries and their relationships with each other. In addition, other relevant information, such as doppelgänger bloodlines and important map locations have been included in order to give the viewer a broader context. The larger the dot on the map, the more active that location is, in terms of major plot events. This relationship map not only examines the relationships between the characters featured in the show, but also how the locations relate to those found in other famous vampire literature.
